Spanish
Overview
The Brighton
School’s Spanish program expands the student’s limits
of their immediate environment and language by exposing them to
the richness of another language and culture. The foreign language
specialist introduces Spanish to the students as they enter Pre-Kindergarten
and continues through Grade 6. Students attend Spanish class once
per week. Throughout the years, the focus is on developing conversation
skills and building vocabulary. Songs, games and hands-on activities
are an important part of the Spanish curriculum. Each year the
students participate in a Spanish Fiesta where they have the opportunity
to showcase their Spanish by singing, dancing, and acting out
skits.
